Suicide and Therapy, with David Forrest
Time & Location
About The Event
I wish to approach this workshop from the pragmatic view accepting suicide is going to occur. Suicide is happening around us all the time and many therapists have experienced the death of a client in this way.
Is suicide committed, or is it performed? Suicide is an action.
What actions do we perform, and what for?
in talking about suicide we are also talking about death; we are also talking about an action that is considered to be one not made in the 'right state of mind' - when someone is not quite their self. We will consider this in the workshop.
The workshop will look at responses and responsibilities with clients that talk about suicidal thoughts.
I want this workshop to allow you time to explore and reflect about suicide in terms of your own beliefs and values and look at how to support your client.
